When the cello provided the base
of an accompaniment,
it was often resting on a bench.
In the beginning of this century, a short
(15 centimètres 6") wooden pin was used to support the instrument.
It became a necessary requirement (except for the baroque cellists)using
an even longer pin.

Classical endpin :

Our classical endpin is pear shaped in wood and has a carbon fiber rod, of 60 centimeters lenght.
It is equiped with a very hard and sharp tungsten point.
The carbon rod, more ridgid, three times lighter than the steel one, lightens the weight of the cello by 130 grammes.

These two endpins have a maximum length of 41cm, 16.4" in two dismantible parts.

Technical notes

All the endpins are made in Boxwood, Ebony or Rosewood.
The pear shaped endpin has a standard cone which measures 25mm or 1" maximum diameter.
A wider diameter of 27mm is available.
